Translation Consultant, Chaldean Translation, United States

Rev. Ken and Carol Bunge assist with translating the Old Testament into modern Aramaic for the benefit of Chaldean Christians, who are from Iraq. Ken makes periodic trips to Detroit, where the Chaldean translator lives among the large population (approx. 121,000) of Chaldean Christians living there.

Ken served as an Arabic and Hebrew linguist for the Air Force until he retired in 2000. He received his Master of Divinity Degree in 2006 and then served two small congregations in rural Minnesota. He has been with Lutheran Bible Translators (LBT) since 2010.

Carol served as a nurse for 22 years in the Army Nurse Corps. Carol’s ministry with LBT focuses on developing and nurturing ministry partners.

“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.”
